Our book club recently dived into Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and it sparked an exciting conversation! The eerie, atmospheric setting of the crumbling mansion in 1950s Mexico completely transported us. We were drawn to NoemÃ, the fearless protagonist, whose wit and determination brought a refreshing twist to the classic gothic genre. While the blend of horror and mystery kept us on edge, some members felt the pacing dragged at times.
