In 2024, I embarked on a simple yet meaningful artistic journey—painting butterflies. Over the course of the year, I completed one to two paintings a week, allowing this series to unfold naturally. My motivation was straightforward: butterflies are beautiful, and they are a joy to paint.
Beyond their delicate wings and vibrant colors, butterflies symbolize transformation, beauty, and renewal. They remind us that change, though sometimes challenging, can lead to something extraordinary. In a world that often feels heavy, I wanted this series to serve as a focal point for beauty, health, abundance, and, most importantly, hope. Each painting is a small celebration of resilience—a quiet but powerful reminder that lightness and grace can emerge from even the most uncertain times.
This collection was displayed at the Jefferson Public Library in August 2024, where I also hosted a Meet the Artist event and an interactive butterfly art workshop for students. The experience reinforced the idea that art, like nature, has the power to connect and uplift us.
Explore the series below, and may these butterflies bring a sense of peace, joy, and transformation to all who view them.
